Founded in 2007, SDI is registered with the Bayelsa State Government and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as well as other line ministries.

SDI provides health intervention packages in collaboration with government and non-governmental agencies, such interventions include, prevention, contact tracking of people living with HIV/AIDS providing them with the necessary support system at the same time identifying and registering Orphans and Vulnerable Children in order to provide the OVC with the necessary services. We are also saddled with the responsibilities of educating the community dwellers on the basic health care practices, providing support where necessary like the provision of routine drugs, insecticide treated nets, conducting HIV/TB/malaria tests, health sensitization outreaches referring clients to partnering health facilities for further services, provision of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials, These we execute by partnering with other bodies (Donor Agencies, NGOs, NACA, BYSACA, Federal and State Ministries of health) to mention but a few. SDI Bayelsa State has been known over the years to be one of the leading NGOs that have the strong vision for a dynamic society where every individual has the right to sustainable development.
