SDI a leading Non-Government Organization (NGO) witha strong vision for a dynamic society where every individual has the right to sustainable development.

We provide education, as well as on-the-spot medical diagnosis and treatment of common illnesses and diseases as much as feasible – based on capacity and resources. Essential to SDI humanitarian work is our commitment to helping rebuild safer, stronger places that people call home. Our programs aim to improve health and education, promote social justice and open up economic opportunities to make communities more resilient and less vulnerable to the forces that cause emergencies. Our service responses focus on the needs of the most vulnerable populations. Our uniqueness lies in a community-based approach that empowers local communities to mitigate/address issues and problems confronting them through advocacy and self-help projects.

CONSTITUTION

We the members of Synergy Care Development Initiative having firmly and solemnly resolved to form an association which is non-governmental, non-religious, non-political and non-ethnic hereby set for ourselves the following rules and laws to guide and assure its activities and accordingly have adopted them to be our constitution

The program office: is responsible for the collation, development and submission of project report. The program officers are initiators of project activities for grants and proposals advertised by funding donors and provide guidance to the team in planning and implementation of approved work plan, coordinates and oversees all services in relation to their award. They are responsible for the day-to-day management of the project (Program and Finance) towards the realization of the set targets ensuring quality of services. They also manage partnership with stakeholders at the Local Government level (Grassroots) including maintaining healthy relationships with the target population and, community, with guidance from the Executive Director.

All program officers are charged with the responsibility of facilitating prompt submission of quarterly reports to the Local Government Authorities and relevant stakeholders using appropriate and standard Government-approved reporting template. They play an active role in strengthening strong synergy and working relationships with other partners including International and Local partners to secure support for services required by their beneficiaries.

Household Economic Strengthening and Food Security/Nutrition (HES) Office: is responsible for the promotion and implementation of Households Economic strengthening and Nutrition strategies. The Officers in this unitare responsible for utilizing findings from household vulnerability assessments to provide economic strengthening support to vulnerable beneficiaries. They champion trainings relevant to Households Economic Strengthening, lead in relevant sector stakeholders’ linkages and other forms of engagement. The officers ensure that information is disseminated appropriately, they also develop and implement a holistic household strengthening strategy, appropriate to the local context that allows the organization to strengthen the capacity of their staff to provide high quality household services to enrolled beneficiaries. They provide interventions that aligns with household economic vulnerability status and designs to improve household resilience to shocks, and reduce food insecurity.

Gender and Community Systems Strengthening (GCSSO)Office: The officers in charge practice, promote and facilitate child protection systems, ensuring the implementation of standards in every course of action using community structure.This unitleads programs that improve caregiver’s ability to effectively communicate with their children about sexuality and sexual risk reduction; support the Community Case Workers (CCWs) to identify and address the difficult issues of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) and Gender Based Violence (GBV) through culturally acceptable and age-appropriate content, highlighting the key role parents play in protecting their children from CSA and GBV and responding to abuse.

 The unit staff also support the CCWs to establish and strengthen referral mechanism and linkages between the community and health facilities implementing the clinical pathway for treatment of sexual assault survivors. They contribute to the documentation and dissemination of GBV and violence against children (VAC) issues in the community and LGAs. The unit officer’s setup, supervise and monitor the work of Community Improvement Teams (CITs), Child Protection Committees (CPCs) and related community structures to address issues on HIV stigma and access to care. They are responsible to hold community dialogue sessions with relevant stakeholders to addressing issues on Child Rights violations/abuse. They work with the LGA stakeholders (Social Welfare unit, National Population Commission) and others to map community and LGA resources, applying appropriate approaches to mobilize resources to support project implementation.

The Strategic Information Office (SIO) coordinates projects activity and documentation to establish a baseline for all project, designs Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) work plan, keeps record of all source documents for verification of project accomplishments, and conductsData Quality Assurance (DQA). The department officers also provide support in mentoring, coaching and training of the LGA monitoring and evaluation focal person, training community volunteers on data management for all projects.

The strategic information officers are charged with the responsibility to continuously provide technical support to Community volunteers in the use of all Monitoring and Evaluation tools relevant to each project. They mentor the data entry clerks and facilitate data entry into all data Management Information System platforms. They develop and maintain systems to collect and analyze information on inputs, outputs, outcomes and impact of the program, support other project staff in the correct use of forms and submission of accurate reports on a timely basis. Thestaff also conduct supportive supervisory visits to project sites and Local Government Authorities to observe, monitor, and provide guidance and quality feedback to case managers on documentation and reporting. The SIOs support in the capacity building and mentoring of case managers on Monitoring and Evaluation related matters such as to understanding the information needs of SDI project, and to adhere to M&E standard operating procedures (SOPs), perform data quality assessments for remedial action and also maintain hard and electronic copy file of the organizations Monthly Summary Forms.

The data entry unit is staffed with officers who work with the strategic information officers to compile and sort monthly program performance into reporting templates.  Performs routine data entry into the hard copy and electronic database for each project. They verify documented records for accuracy by reviewing, correcting, deleting and reentering activity data.

The Finance and Admin department establishes and maintain financial and managerial procedure to meet with all regulatory requirements of partners and donors.

The finance and compliance officers: ensure that all finances are properly administered and monitored; they also advise on the proper allocation of resources, ensuring appropriate financial regulations and controls are in place and in use at all times. They prepare and review detailed budgets for approval by the organization, making regular reports on income, expenditure and any variations from donor’s budgets. The finance and compliance officerensure that all financial reporting obligations are met in relation to submissions for funding, for grant aid, for contracts and any other initiatives.

They oversee the financial operations of the organization and ensure timely and accurate financial reports and practices including cash management, payroll, financial disbursements, ledgers etc. Manages financial control, prepare and analyze budgets, develop financial reports, and make recommendations to the organization on budget expenditures. The financial audits of all projects are overseen by the unit which provide financial inputs for proposal development, project management, Human Resource Management policies, logistics, travel and other areas of administration.

The Administrative Office: is staffed with personnel who work with the Finance and Compliance officers to perform administrative roles and management. Personnel are charged to manage, co-ordinate, supervise and support administrative functions in an organization. This unit assist in the budget preparation process, controlling budget expenditures and revenues, recommend space and equipment requirements. They also provide direct supervision that includes conducting performance evaluations, provide advice on administrative matters to senior management, carry out special assignments for senior staff, identify problem areas, determine solutions and implement changes. They possess the knowledge and abilityto develop work methods and procedures, and modifying existing procedures that will accommodate an ever-changing environment.
